MEET HIPOLITO

I was born and raised in Lindsay, California—a community that shaped my values, my work ethic, and my commitment to public service.

I am a proud graduate of the University of California, Davis, where I earned departmental honors in Science and Technology Studies, along with a minor in Management.

My commitment to serving the Central Valley began early. I interned in the California State Senate, working on legislation that directly impacts our region. As Mayor Pro Tem for the City of Lindsay, I also interned with the United States Conference of Mayors in Washington, D.C., where I collaborated with leaders from across the country to advocate for the equitable distribution of COVID-19 relief funding.

I furthered my policy training by earning a certificate in Public Policy through Harvard edX, an initiative of Harvard University. I went on to serve four years on the Lindsay City Council, where I became the youngest mayor in California history. During my time in office, I worked across party lines and served on numerous boards and committees focused on water quality, economic development, and government affairs. I have represented the City of Lindsay at the state level, collaborating with local, state, and federal leaders to deliver results for our community.

My story is deeply personal. I was raised by a single mother who worked in agriculture, and I help care for my brother with disabilities. I come from a hardworking family, and those lived experiences have shaped my commitment to fight for families like mine—families who work hard, sacrifice, and deserve a fair shot.

I’m running to bring a new voice to District 33—one rooted in service, driven by results, and grounded in the real experiences of the people I seek to represent. I am ready to get to work.

Pitch in today to support Hipolito Cerros for California State Assembly - District 33.
